Strawberry Farms Golf Club Wedding

strawberry farms golf club wedding invitation

Today’s blog post is all about this watercolor-heavy invitation suite I designed for a summer wedding at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine, California. It was inspired by the tastes and sounds of summer. A fresh and juicy strawberry, the sharp scent of freshly cut grass, kids playing in the sprinklers, and big blooms of white hydrangeas. Ahh… how I love summer! Let’s check it out!

Assembling this suite was so much fun. I highlighted this gorgeous venue by painting the barn where the ceremony would take place and then printing it on the envelope liner. The belly band featured the couple’s bespoke crest on a vellum wrap.

The invitation card featured a border of strawberries, strawberry blossoms, and big blooms of white hydrangea flowers painted with watercolor. The couple’s names and all of the wedding ceremony information were printed in a dark emerald green. We chose this modern calligraphy font to compliment the summer vibes. We picked a bright red RSVP envelope as a little accent color and a nod to the strawberries all around us.

I designed the back of the reply card so it would have this fun pattern featuring the same florals used throughout the invitation suite. I assembled the suite so the reply card would be nestled within the border of the invitation card. This creates a sense that you are on a strawberry farm in the summer with your sun hat on, picking sweet and ripe berries. If you received this invitation at the height of winter, you’d be buzzing with anticipation!

The details card also had matching florals but, this time they were sprinkled throughout the card as if you accidentally dropped some flowers or strawberries on your way out.

The envelope featured vintage stamps that reflected this couple’s love story AND matched the invitation suite perfectly. I selected stamps to celebrate California, highlight their love of golf, and some that would give a little sneak peek of what the guest was about to see inside the envelope. I finished it off with guest calligraphy addressing.
