An Intentional & Joyful Kalmar Village Wedding

Kalmar Village Bride and groom under umbrella

Tara and David’s Kalmar Village Wedding in North Truro, Massachusetts was filled with intentional details that truly reflected who they are as a couple.

Tara and David met when they were introduced through a friend - David's friend from high school, who was Tara's co-worker. David popped the question when they were in Tara's hometown of Houston. “We were there for the holiday break and he proposed, followed by a celebration at my favorite wine bar in town with both our families meeting for the first time”

Tara and David wanted their wedding to feel like them. They wanted intentional touches that were relaxed and fun but refined. They really wanted to bring that romantic coastal feel to the day as well.

They chose Kalmar Village because Tara grew up going to Truro every summer and when she and David started dating, he joined her and her family. “We were so excited to share this special place with our friends!”

The wedding day began hot and humid, as is typical for New England lately! It rained throughout the day which some may think was unlucky but made for beautiful photos and an intimate feel to the day.

Tara and David got ready with their friends and family, ensuring they were surrounded by love all day. They each had their own special moments and traditions. Their First Look was so special and the setting for this moment was reflected on their wedding invitations.

Their ceremony was on the beach naturally and their florals brought the color that was maybe missing from the sky!

Tara and David really wanted coastal wedding invitations that weren’t typical. They wanted their invites to reflect North Truro, which isn’t as touristy as some other parts of the Cape. As their wedding stationer, I decided that a line art of a windswept beach would be perfect for what they were looking for.

Handmade paper gave it that organic coastal feeling. Not only are people not used to the texture, but the deckled edge really transports me to a seaside village.

I asked Tara and David why they chose to work with me: “We wanted our invitations to feel unique and special without being over-the-top. We wanted them to fit the feel and theme of the wedding location and the vibe we wanted for the whole weekend - relaxed, elegant, coastal, refined, beautiful.”

Seeing their photos and invitations side by side, I think we were able to stay true to their vision.

Hearing from them about their invitations made my day!

“Thank you for everything! We have received the most glowing responses about how beautiful our invitations are, and we have ours in hand and agree - they're amazing! Thank you so much for your patience in working with us.”

Their reception was GOALS. They had a raw bar, stunning florals, and beautiful linens.
