Today’s blog post is my most special yet. This week marks 5 years that my husband and I have been married! We had our wedding at Harrington Farm in Princeton, MA on October 12th, 2018. I want to share some photos from our wedding so join me down memory lane!

Harrington Farm, our wedding venue, did not have sleep accommodations. We stayed at the Colonial Hotel. That’s where my bridesmaids and mom got ready. It’s also where we had our hotel room blocks for our guests (curious where you should include that info on your invitations? Check out that blog post here)

I got my hair and makeup done there but decided to get into my dress at Harrington Farm. They have this super cute farmhouse where you can hang out before and during your wedding.

I want to be very transparent with you guys about my mental health. As much as I was so happy and excited for my wedding day, I was also extremely nervous and anxious. I am a very introverted person, so the thought of having everyone’s eyes and attention on me for an entire day was very nerve-wracking. I was enjoying myself throughout the day but as we got closer and closer to the ceremony, I started to get increasingly anxious. As I was leaving the farmhouse and going into the barn with my father for the ceremony, I was actually afraid I would pass out. Thankfully everything went smoothly but it was the start of a long mental health journey that I am still on!

I am not a mental health expert but if you are someone who suffers from anxiety, I am ALWAYS here to chat and to suggest things that have worked for me.

Harrington Farm Wedding

Let’s get back to the fun, shall we? Harrington Farm has a few spots where you can get married and we chose the barn. We loved how high the ceilings are and how bright and warm it is in there. Our wedding planner, Jess, was incredible! Here is a photo of us before the ceremony when I first saw the space. It was exactly what I had dreamed of!

My grandfather was a deacon and he is the one who married us. He only speaks Portuguese so we had someone there to translate to English. It was really special and meaningful.

Our reception was super fun! We really wanted to throw the best party of the year so we hired an incredible DJ and had amazing food. Our guests still talk about the food to this day!

Our wedding cake was INCREDIBLE. We really wanted to incorporate my Brazilian heritage so we did 2 flavors. One was a passion fruit curd and white chocolate passion fruit buttercream, the other was a lemon curd with strawberry filling. It was INSANE. We actually had a smaller one made for our anniversary as opposed to freezing the top tier because we couldn’t resist and ate the top tier a couple of months after our wedding! 😂

Our wedding was absolutely magical. Was it perfect? No, of course not! But it was the best night of our lives and I wish I could relive it! Maybe one day if they ever invent time machines, I’ll crash my own wedding haha. Until then, I have these photos to remember that day by.
