A Colorful Summer Wedding Invitation

a colorful summer wedding invitation for a wedding at Harrington Farm

This wedding invitation is a bit of a different one. It’s the first-ever suite I designed! The inspiration for it was our own wedding venue but instead of the wedding taking place in the fall, I wanted to set it at the height of New England summer. So let’s take a closer look.

I drew an illustration of the barn at our venue for this custom map. Harrington Farm has the cutest little barn house which is attached to the main venue. It’s where the bride and groom can get ready. It has a little porch (my dream!) with lilac bushes all around it. The first time we went to visit, a breeze picked up and all I could smell was lilacs. I knew that venue was meant for us <3

I took inspiration for the color palette from the rhododendrons outside our home. I painted this watercolor piece for the envelope liner.

I then snuck in a little illustration of a rhododendron bloom on the RSVP card to tie everything together.

I also wanted to highlight that an envelope can still look beautiful even if you don’t use all those gorgeous vintage postage stamps you see everywhere.

This envelope also features white ink calligraphy done by hand.
